General Idea formed in 1967 and over the next four decades helped define postmodern art. 

Two of the members, Felix Partz and Jorge Zontal died of AIDS in 1994. 

The surviving member, AA Bronson, continues to practice as an independent artist and oversees the representation and exhibition of General Idea’s work internationally.

In the early 1980's General Idea was commissioned by the Toronto Stock Exchange to install a work/mural.

This poster, which was in an unnumbered edition of 1,000, uses an element of the preparatory sketch of that work entitled 

"Study for Ursa Major and Taurus: Pavilion Fragments From the Starry Vault" 1983.

This is an amazing vintage poster that represents an intersection between Toronto history, finance and conceptual art in Canada.

While its hard to depict in the photos, the poster has a gorgeous gold ink/foil and is one of the most decorative pieces General Idea created.
