The Museum of Modern Art, New York has been a long-time champion of Massimo Vignelli, one of America’s most versatile and prolific designers. Vignelli (b. 1931) is responsible for designing a range of items including high-end furniture, lighting, corporate logos, and the world-famous map of New York City’s subway network.

Vignelli’s stackable “Handkerchief” chair, designed in 1985, is one of Knoll’s greatest hits. Practical in an office or entryway, or impressive as a sculptural design icon in the home

The chair seat is compression-molded fiberglass and reinforced polyester with a urethane paint finish. In other words, it is super-durable.
