RCA VICTOR VINTAGE ANTENNA SCULPTURE
Caviar20 is a big proponent of repurposing items as sculptural objects. Since postmodernism, great artists have excelled recontextualizing banal items in to thought provoking and engaging art pieces. Individuals trying to create a dynamic or inspiring interiors can easily follow their lead.
This vintage RCA Victor vintage television antenna is a paradigm of this practice. Based on the size and materials of this antenna (including the lucite bar in the center) we can deduce that this antenna was a very costly piece of "stereo equipment" in its day. After all, during the first decades of television, the TV set was a luxury item for most Americans.
The antenna remains in very good condition (with the RCA Victor insignia perfectly intact on both aluminum discs) with a lovely patina on the metal stems.
