Stéphane Ducatteau is well-known Paris-based studio furniture designer dedicated to working in metal.

His creations destabilize the definitions of both sculpture and furniture. 

While there are multiple references to minimalist sculpture (such as works by Richard Serra, Carl Andre and Donald Judd) Ducatteau's pieces are unquestionably original. 

Perhaps it is the subtle but fascinating finishes and patinas that grace his work. Often surfaces appear to be ebony or expertly lacquered woods.

Ducatteau has a significant exhibition history in France including Salon des Antiquaires, HABITER and over a decade at Maison et Objet.
