THONET "NUDES" PAIR OF BERGERS BY CAVIAR20
In the late 19th century Thonet revolutionized both the production and design of manufactured furniture with their accomplishments in bentwood. They set a precedent that inspired and influenced everyone from Mies van der Rohe to Charles Eames.
Caviar20 took a quartet of
Bergères, stripped them, and had them refinished with a light whitewash
and varnish. Newly reupholstered in matching nude-colored goatskin. The
result is a set of versatile and comfortable chairs, a contemporary
remix of a design icon.
Birch and goatskin. Contemporary upholstery (goatskin). Very good condition.
Czechslovakia, circa 1970.
