TAHIR MAHMOOD "CHANDA" FLOOR LAMP, 2012

$975

Tahir Mahmood’s “Chaand” light was Caviar20’s bestseller in 2011.

Our clients around the world were super enthusiastic about its beautiful form, sculptural presence and aesthetic versatility.

Many clients inquired whether it was available in a larger or floor lamp size (just as Tahir’s "Girgit" lamp was followed by "Tinga" - a taller sibling)

We passed on these comments to Tahir....and “Chanda” was born.

Made of a single piece of Canadian Maple, “Chanda’s” form is created by the ancient carving technique of lathe turning.

The negative spaces are hand-colored in a mix of matte colors.

The lamp is also crowned with a custom hand-made shade by a Japanese craftsman based in Southern Ontario.

This is another fine example of Tahir Mahmood’s work entirely made in Canada.
