AMBER ALBRECHT "WHEN ONLY ONE"
Enchanted woods, mysterious houses, ghostly figures… Canadian artist Amber Albrecht brings to life fantasy, folklore and memories in her illustrations and serigraphs. Her work is delicate, graphic and rich with charming details that hint at narrative without being tied to a specific story.
Thematically, much of Albrecht’s work deals with female gender roles – “my use of female iconography and of female-associated source material such as lace, ornamentation, and organic material, is a means to investigate themes of passivity and femininity, loss and loneliness, and being at odds with the world”.
Originally from British Columbia, Albrecht completed her BFA in Studio Art at Concordia University in Montreal. She has exhibited in both group and solo shows internationally.
