BAROVIER E TOSO "CORDONATO D'OR" VASE
"Cordonato D'or", which translates as Gold Ribbing, is one of the most desirable and distinctive treatments of glass from the 20th century.
Created by Barovier e Toso, the legendary glass studio, the glass treatment appears to capture tiny glass flakes in motion.
One could say that the artisans where trying to emulate upward moving champagne bubbles.
Its almost unimaginable that someone would bother this vase with flowers. It appears to be illuminated with a sort of Baroque elegance.
Barovier e Toso is one of the world's oldest family businesses. It was established in 1295.
In the 1940's Ercole Barovier confirmed the company's important contribution to Italian decorative arts. He is responsible for numerous innovative creations including the Cordonato D'Or collection.
