BRENDAN GEORGE KO "TOMB" 2011
Brendan George Ko (b. 1986) is a dynamic and promising emerging photographer. He grew up in Ontario, New Mexico and Texas. These diverse environments and cultures have clearly influenced his practice and perspective. Travel, mysticism and memory are themes that reappear throughout his work.
Brendan explains “I see every photograph I take as a document; a document of a memory, a document of a person; a time and place, a feeling and a trace (of something that once was, something worth remembering).” Many of Brendan’s photos exhibit a tension between sentimentalism and spookiness. He received his BFA in Photography from the Ontario College of Art and Design. In addition to working curatorial and commercial projects, Brendan’s work is represented by Angell Gallery in Toronto.
