CHARLES PACHTER "CARLOS OTT" CIRCA 1985
Charles Pachter is one of the most collected and cherished Canadian artists.
His iconic, uplifting and patriotic images have independently earned their place in the nation's museums.
For the uninitiated his work is accessible and beloved (such as his amazing hockey mural at Toronto's College Street subway station).
During the 1980's Pachter executed a number of impressive portraits of Toronto's cultural and creative luminaries.
Carlos Ott, originally from Uruguay, started his architectural career in Canada. By the early 1980's he had an international reputation after winning the competition for the Opera de la Bastille in Paris.
Over the next nearly 30 years Ott's firm would expand globally completing major projects on every major continent.
Caviar20 was invited to explore Charles Pachter's archive of drawings. With out a doubt the portrait of Carlos Ott is one of the masterpieces from his large body of work.
