CINDY SHERMAN "UNTITLED - EMBRACE", 1976
This is a fantastic and rare example of an early Cindy Sherman (b. 1954) - a perfect entry-level piece to collecting one of the most influential and esteemed artists of the 20th century.
While printed in 1989, this work was created in 1976 and foreshadows Sherman's masterpiece: Untitled Film Stills.
Similar to the Untitled Film Stills, here Sherman is impersonating an archetype of early 20th century femininity - the overbearing mother circa 1930's.
