DON HOWELL "SADDLE" STOOL, 2014

$875

Don Howell debuted his latest creation the "Saddle" stool at ICFF in New York City this past May.

It was met with instant acclaim and several orders were placed during the prestigious furniture fair.

Caviar20 is excited to be offering this simple but striking stool to our clients.

An expert craftsman, Howell has spent the last few years refining and challenging his techniques and aesthetic, slowly hand-making heirloom-quality furniture using the finest hardwoods and burls.

Howel's work is inspired by the precision and passion for wood of George Nakashima, and the clean modernist aesthetic of Harvey Probber and Paul McCobb.

With the "Saddle" stool Howell pushes his aesthetic ever further; surpassing Modernism and approaching minimalism.

The stool's delicate tripod form is both understated and strikingly sculptural simultaneously.

Custom commissions realized in alternate wood or with brass accents are possible.
