DON HOWELL "WATERFALL" BUFFET CONSOLE, 2013
"Waterfall" is another exceptional example of Don Howell's expertise and creativity as a studio furniture designer.
On first glance, this large buffet console appears to be quite understated.
Upon further inspection one discover the numerous handsome details that make this a contemporary heirloom.
The rich color of the walnut, which is almost a blackened aubergine, is the result of oxidization.
The impeccable rounded top edges are joined with a saw-tooth edge.
The top has a single piece of oxidized steel - ideal for serving.
The front doors have a wonderful organic protruding groove handle.
"Waterfall" debuted at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair in New York City (May 2013) to great accolades.
Functional and handsome, the table's understated yet thoughtful design enables ample storage.
