DOUGLAS COUPLAND "I MISS MY PRE-INTERNET BRAIN" 2012

$2,500

Douglas Coupland (b. 1961) is a fantastic hybrid; he is both a best-selling author and an internationally collected contemporary artist. It is hard to think of another individual who is as accomplished in such different fields.

A common theme, in both his fiction and his artwork is challenging the fallacies and fascination of pop culture. Both technology and mass-production are explored and subverted through various media in Coupland's world.

This work, created in 2012, is one of Coupland's famed slogans or truisms. Unlike say Jenny Holzer, Coupland prefers to critique his generations "culture" with more playfulness. ("I have meme fatigue" is another similar gem)
