FORNASETTI "TEMI E VARIAZIONI" 16" TRAY, 2007
Piero Fornasetti died in 1988. Over the last 25 years, his son Barnaba Fornasetti has tirelessly promoted scholarship and appreciation of his father's masterful creations.
In addition to authenticating vintage pieces and overseeing high-end licensing projects, Barnaba has reinterpreted some of his father's most iconic designs, breathing a new life in to a rich visual iconography.
One of his most notable projects has been "remixing" some of the images from the "Temi E Variazioni" (or "Themes & Variations") series.
This large tray is a paradigm, as the heroine's eye from T&V is isolated and becomes a single decorative element.
An excellent piece of contemporary Fornasetti.
