George Kovacs was one of the most prolific and inventive American lighting designers/manufacturers.

A quick search on 1stdibs will produce dozens of examples of his creations, both iconic and exceptional.

Besides putting into production his own designs, he also worked with Robert Sonneman and Neal Small.

More scholarship is needed on this important trio of American mid-century designers.

This sculptural desk lamp, that we've named "Robo" is excellent condition for a piece that is well over 50 years old.

A similar example, with a double stem, can be found on 1stdibs for $1,400.
