HEBREW ZODIAC, FRAMED ENCYCLOPEDIA PRINT, 1960S
Did you know that the word Zodiac, which relates to both Latin and Greek, means "Circle of Animals"?
Its astronomical ideas date back to mid-first millennium BC.
Several of the constellations included in the Zodiac were identified as early as the Bronze Age.
In other words, for over 2500 years people have looked at the same group of stars and described them with the same names.
The Torah or the Old Testament's connection to the Zodiac is ambiguous.
Some scholars believe there are references or acknowledgments to the Zodiac in Ezekiel and Revelations. Yet other passages imply that astrology is equivalent to idolatry.
There is also a distinction in Hebrew between the identification of star groupings and using these groups for predictions.
This print came from a beautiful Hebrew encyclopedia from the 1960's filled with historical maps and Astrological charts.
We predict it will look fantastic in your home.
