JAMES LAHEY "ABSTRACT / CLOUD PORTRAIT" DIPTYCH, 2000
James Lahey is a well-known and highly collectible Canadian artist.
Over the past 15 years Lahey has exhibited across North America and beyond. In 2001 the artist was elected to the Royal Canadian Academy.
His meticulous figurative paintings can be found in numerous public and corporate collections including the University of Toronto, Royal Bank of Canada, AT&T, Citibank, CIBC, Heenan Blaikie and Scotiabank to mention a few.
His iconic images of flowers, motorcycles, clouds and skulls grace some of the most glamorous and elegant homes across the continent.
This diptych, in the spirit of Gerhard Richter, is composed of a moody and rigorous "Cloud Study" contrasted with a dynamic "Abstract" revealing the diversity of Lahey's oeuvre.
Lahey's works are highly-sought after and rarely come onto the secondary market.
