We can't get enough of contemporary artists/designers interest and reinterpretations of traditional bisque porcelain.

From Jaime Hayon to Beth Katleman, the practice of using bisque porcelain in a contemporary way (that simultaneously honors and subverts the elements of decoration and kitsch) is sexy, playful and fun.

However in the late 1970's there was a short-lived renaissance of this practice with several German porcelain companies.

This large "Happy Flowers" vase is a great example. It shares a spirit with contemporary works by Hayon and Katleman but has a charming and groovy retro vibe. It looks amazing with or without flowers.
