From the vanitas paintings in the early 17th century to Georgia O’Keefe southwestern masterpieces, animal skulls are both decorative and rich in symbolic meaning.

We acquired this pair of Coyote Skulls (with their understated Modernist stands) during a recent trip to Northern California.

Their name derives from a Mexican Spanish word relating to being a trickster.

Coyotes, which are primarily nocturnal, are unique in that they travel in packs but hunt in pairs.

A handsome, elegant and unique object, whether placed as a pair or as a single sculpture, these natural wonders will enhance your desk-top, mantle or vignette.
