POUL HENNINGSEN "BLUE PH 4/3" PENDANT CHANDELIER
Poul Henningsen is the father of modernist Scandinavian lighting and is often described as the world's first "lighting architect".
His designs created a new breed of lighting that eliminated any direct glare from the bulb.
His creations used concentric and layered rings of glass or metal which gently diffused the light.
The success of the function aside, the overall forms of his pendant or table lamps were sculptural, innovative and decorative.
Caviar20 actively seeks out and offers lighting by Poul Henningsen, his contemporaries and disciples such as Lyfa, Lyskaer, Fog & Morup and Holm Sorensen & Petersen to mention a few.
An interesting vintage hanging light is an easy way to give an entry way or dining room elegance, character and ambiance.
This handsome tiered light, one of Poul Henningsen most popular designs, is a paradigm of great Danish design.
Not only is it in remarkable condition but we love the uplifting blue color.
While the PH 4/3 is still in production, retailing for around $600, the vintage colored examples are quite rare.
