GAETANO PESCE "TUTTI FRUTTI XL" SPAGHETTI BOWL
This is a big one!
An amazing centerpiece, sculptural object, supersized dish...a fabulous GIANT example of Gaetano Pesce. Almost 21" wide!
The "Spaghetti" technique is one of the most recognizable and beloved expressions from Gaetano Pesce's "FISH DESIGN" collection.
The "Spaghetti" was realized in several shapes; vases, bracelets and even rings.
However these oversized Tutti Frutti bowls are quite rare.
This example, in a rich deep aubergine purple, is especially interesting because it is executed in a single saturated color.
(Other examples I've seen are in odd color combos such as orange and black)
The pieces from the "FISH DESIGN" collection are made of a patented dynamic resin created by Pesce’s studio, each vase is an original as the manufacturing process creates varied color distributions and proportions while adhering to a general form.
Incredibly tactile, the resin body is fascinatingly soft yet completely retains it shape.
Most viewers assume that these pieces are hard, but are soon delighted and surprised to discover its soft and bendable, but solid, structure.
Gaetano Pesce (b. 1939) has designed for a host of major furniture studios/manufacturers including Cassina, B&B Italia and Vitra to mention a few.
