ROBERT SONNEMAN "ALUMINUM SPOT" PAIR OF LAMPS
Robert Sonneman is one of the few well-known American lighting designers.
At the onset of his career in the late 1960's Sonneman created innovative Modernist lighting designs for other firms (such as George Kovacs), eventually founding his own eponymous manufacturing company.
He would continue to realize his own designs while simultaneously accepting commissions from other firms (such as Lightolier)
Today perusing through 1stdibs or visiting the Sonneman website (which now focuses more on mass market) one is astonished how many greatest-hits he is responsible for.
Sonneman's best work was done in the 1970's - and these lamps are a paradigm of his clean and chic aesthetic.
Caviar20 recommends rewiring with the addition of a dimmer switch.
