PAIR OF SCULPTA "STAR TREK" CHAIRS, 1966
Whether you are a fan of 20th century American design or a Star Trek devotee, you are likely familiar with Chromcraft's iconic "Sculpta" chair.
This paradigm of American design, was designed in 1966 and in production for several years.
While its form alludes to Vladimir Kagan, it has achieved 'cult status' for appearing on two episodes of Star Trek: "Spock's Brain" and "The Trouble With Tribbles".
Originally upholstered in black vinyl (which in most cases cracked) this pair has been expertly reupholstered in a heather gray cotton/wool blend that evokes wool flannel.
A remarkably comfortable chair with tremendous sculptural presence.
