T.H. Robsjohn-Gibbings (1905-1976) was a renowned interior decorator and furniture designer.

He synthesized both design trends in Europe and classical furniture forms creating a body of work that defined mid-century American elegance.

During the 1930's and 40's he completed a number of major decoration projects for the American elite including the Chrysler family, Doris Duke and publishing magnate Alfred A. Knopf.

In 1943 he began designing more accessible collections for the Widdicomb company. His sabre-leg designs for Widdicomb are one of the most iconic examples of high-end American Modernism.
