TAHIR MAHMOOD "SAROD" TABLE LAMP, 2014

$495

In 2011 Tahir Mahmood debuted the "Chaand" lamp - it has remained one of his best selling creations.

At IDS in Toronto in early 2014 Tahir introduced "Sarod" - a sequel or sibling to his previous lamp.

Like the best of Tahir's designs it is a perfect combination or high craftsmanship, retro cool and contemporary design.

Similar to its siblings (like "Chaand" or the floor lamp version "Chanda") "Sarod" is made from a solid piece of Babul (also known as Acacia).

The lamp is named after the classic lute-like string instrument, used in India and Pakistan for thousands of years.

A great example of sustainable design, the lamp is handmade by artisans (in Tahir’s studio in Lahore, Pakistan)

The lacquered sections are made from a sap-based resin.

Tahir's designs have been featured in ID magazine, Wallpaper*, the New York Times and Canadian House & Home amongst others.
