VISTOSI "MONK" GLASS DESK LIGHT
Super-sculptural, slightly mysterious and an amazing accomplishment in glass - Vistosi's "Monk" glass desk light is another exceptional example from Vistosi, our favorite Venetian glass studio.
At Caviar20 we are especially interested in Vistosi from the 1970's - works from this period are minimalist and futuristic.
For the uninitiated many are surprised that these creations are nearly 40 years old.
"Monk" desk light is given its name as it resembles an divinely illuminated hooded figure realized in ochre-colored glass
While the Vistosi family had been producing glass since the 17th century, it is during the 20th century that they really left their mark as they collaborated with designers such as Sergio Asti, Ettore Sottsass Jr. and Gae Aulenti to mention a few.
