JADE RUDE "COLOR WHEEL" 2015

$1,850

Continuing her exploration of image, reflection, history and semiotics Jade Rude's "Color Wheel" is another playful creation using mirror as her preferred sculptural element.

Sir Isaac Newton is credited with identifying the color wheel circa 1706.

The revolutionary scientist documented that a disc of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and violet once spun will be understood by the human eye as a unified color; white.

Newton's wheel would inspired several centuries of exploring the relationships and properties of color.

Jade Rude has created another sculpture that is both rich is history and metaphor yet is simultaneously decorative and playful.
