CHARLES PACHTER "MOOSE PLUNGE", 1986

$1,650

Charles Pachter is one of the most collected and cherished Canadian artists.

His iconic, uplifting and patriotic images have independently earned their place in the nation's museums from coast to coast.

Queen Elizabeth, barns, and the moose, form a trio of Canadiana icons that Pachter has repeatedly visited over the course of his career.

In this fantastic work from the 1980's, a signature moose is heading off a cliff and into the water, yet framed by an open window. This framing technique, mimicking the confines of the canvas, is a meta reminder of the confines of the pictorial plane. What lies beyond the picture and window frames?

Pachter’s graphics are an ideal choice for starting a collection of Canadian art.

This work was included in our recent Charles Pachter exhibition, "The Barns Collection 2" Click here to see images.
