CARLO NASON "ICEBERG" LAMP FOR MAZZEGA
Caviar20 is a big fan of Italian glass from the 1970’s. Characteristics such as clean sculptural forms, variations of white glass (frosted, opaque, pearlized, tinted etc.) and smooth, sleek surfaces all result in pieces that look contemporary in the 21st century.
Carlo Nason (b.1935) is one of the greatest art glass designers of the 20th century.
Examples of his work can be found in the permanent collections of institutions including the Museum of Modern Art (New York) and the Corning Glass Museum.
His “Iceberg” series is a true chef d’oeuvre, with its ridges of translucent iridescent glass. The quality and sophistication of glass and form ensure that this will never be knocked-off.
Caviar20 previously sold a pair of smaller Iceberg lamps, and we are now thrilled to offer this stunning larger example.
