PAUL FOURNIER "JUNGLE PLANTS" 1988

$3,000

This grand and exuberant work on paper is a fine example of Paul Fournier from the 1980's - arguably one of the artist's best periods.

Fournier has an impressive reputation and exhibition history in Canada and abroad. Over the course of his career, which spans over fifty years, Fournier has had solo shows at the most prestigious galleries across the country including The David Mirvish Gallery, Miriam Shiell Fine Art, The Elca London Gallery, and the Mira Godard Gallery to mention a few.

Fournier's highly abstract works frequently maintain a link to a figurative source, typically in nature. Here, in "Jungle Plants" Fournier contrasts bursts of jewel-like colors that create an atmospheric and evocative post-impressionistic landscape. The palette and energy of the forms give rise to an image that is sensual and invigorating.
