Bruce Hilding White (b. 1933) is an American sculptor and professor best known for his large-scale whimsical public sculpture.

White typically works with stainless steel and aluminum, although he has created works in bronze and granite - essentially materials which lend themselves to permanence.

In addition to numerous large-scale public commissions in United States and in Sweden, he has done sculptures for residential and commercial interiors.

This domestically-proportioned sculpture, is a sibling to "Pop Up" (1987) a large scale work, measuring 7 feet tall in the permanent collection of Lakeview Art Museum (Peoria, Illinois). White's sculptures from this era seem to be three-dimensional versions of Matisse's famous cut-outs.
