VASA MIHICH "NEON TOWER" 2011
Typically Vasa Mihich works with solid planes or blocks or colored acrylic. "Neon Tower" is a curious and remarkable anomaly as clear acrylic is the dominant material.
Nevertheless slices of electric blue, neon yellow and melon intersect the form. And depending on the positions, as one starts to engage with the sculpture, and examine it from different angles it reveals itself to be quite dynamic as the colors overlap the clear sections creating new perceptive forms.
Vasa Mihich is a renowned artist who is known for his sleek, colorful and captivating acrylic sculptures.
A senior Professor of Design at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) where he has taught color theory for many years.
