VASA MIHICH "SPRING SPHERE", 1986

$2,500

Caviar20 is excited to be offering this fine and early example of one of Vasa Mihich's iconic "Sphere" sculptures.

Vasa's spheres are highly sought-after by collectors - they were the most difficult to create.

Resting on a custom clear acrylic stand, the sculpture reveals different colors and densities depending on its position or the viewer's. Thin bands intersect each other, criss-crossing through the form. The colors include grape purple, bright green, tangerine orange, blue and liquorice brown.

If you are familiar with Caviar20 you know that Vasa was a Senior Professor of Design at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) where he taught color theory for many years.

For nearly nearly 50 years he has been working in acrylics; whether on canvas or through sculpture.

This is an impressive sculpture that has impact, yet can be positioned on a desk or console. We are pleased to be offering such a fine early example of Vasa's work.
